In the Little House on the Prairie books I read as a kid, the characters always decorated their Christmas trees with popcorn strings. My tree is gone till next year, but today I made a string of popcorn and hung it outside for the birds.
We had some caramel corn left from a house party on Friday. I used dental floss and a needle with a large eye. Some of the kernels cracked as the needle went through them, and my hands got all sticky from the caramel. It took about an hour to use all the kernels and produce a string about 12 feet long.
The cats helped by checking out all the popcorn that fell on the floor:
